Regardless of the season that you're in, and whether your babies are big, small or furry, this time in your life deserves to be captured by something other than your iPhone. Family sessions were born from past wedding couples asking me to document their growing families and now I just can't get enough!
I love creating photos to remind families that in spite of the fact that the car of their floor is covered in cereal, their laundry room looks like an episode of hoarders and mom and dad are in a permanent state of exhaustion, their love and their story are beautiful.
So let's plan a day, pick a location that is meaningful to you and create a slew of images that will fill up the frames your walls for years to come.
Everything you need to know about family portrait sessions
I'm a big believer that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments we captured.
Think about this fact: fifteen years ago, if we had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries we deliver will eventually fade away.
But prints? Those last. I bet your family still has images from your grandparents (maybe even great grandparents.) And that was likely from a time period when cameras were expensive and prints were harder to come by.

Once you've booked your date, we’ll talk about your vision, outfits, and location. These factors make up a big part in the aesthetic of your images.
THE SESSION

Sessions typically last about an hour, and when I can—I love to begin sessions about two hours before sunset. I prefer to shoot when the sun is lower in the sky to avoid harsh shadows and bright sun patches. The first two hours after sunrise is also an ideal time to shoot.

After your session, you will receive your photos within three weeks from your session date. Your images will be stored in an online gallery that will be live for a full year to ensure you have plenty of time to get your full album saved in a safe place.

Where will our session take place?
We'll choose a location together that fits your vibe. Whether that's your cozy home, a nearby park, a field at golden hour, or even the lake. I have favorite spots I can suggest, but I'm always open to meaningful locations that matter to your family.
How long will the session last?
Most sessions run about 30-45 minutes. Newborn sessions can take up to two hours to allow time for feeding, soothing, and breaks. I work at a relaxed pace, especially with little ones, so we can keep it calm and fun.
What if my kids don't cooperate?
Totally normal, and totally okay. I've got two boys myself, and I know that real life isn't always picture-perfect. I approach sessions with patience, flexibility, and playfulness so your kids can just be themselves. Some of the most meaningful moments come from the in-between.
Do you do extended family session?
Yes! I love capturing big, beautiful families, generations, cousins, grandparents and all.
